South Atlanta, near the Federal Penitentiary – an abandoned GM Assembly plant, razed, only the hard parts remain. After the plant was reduced to rubble there remains a long wall facing Sawtell, its surface barely interrupted for over 150 feet. Through the years since GM ceased production that space has been used by lots of people to express themselves via some sort of graphic.
At the end of this group of photographs is a peculiarity. Last year there was a mural painted on the wall by the Living Walls artist Hyuro. It was a thoughtful piece and involved some female nudity, drawn, diagrammatic almost, not pornographic in any regard.
Funny, we all come into the world without clothes… our basic selves. But the human body offends some, even as they occupy one. Last two photographs are a revelation of narrow minds.
