Well, I made it into the “Where Are We?” show at The Atlanta Photography Group. Missed the “Gathered III” show at MOCAGA and “The Summer Show” at SXSE, Molena. Just as well. The summer photographs were too dark for the subject and I should have chosen other images for Gathered. Live and learn.
I was really impressed by the choices Alan Rothschild made for “Where Are We?.” And Beth Lilly put up a really good show, no caveats. There was a pretty hefty turn out at the opening. The core of artists at MOCAGA and APG… a good bunch.
Alan Rothschild is the founder and force behind “The Do Good Fund” an organization in the process of photograph collection. Alan collects images of the south. Worth looking into. The Do Good Fund is becoming a force in southern art.
I’m entering a couple more, addictive when you get a little recognition. I’m trying SXSE again with posting to “Street Photography.” And I’m submitting to Slow Exposures “Unplugged.”
Unplugged We’re off to Italy soon. It has been 2 years since our last trip and now that we’re in the presidential warp I suspect we’ll be fielding copious questions about what has happened to our country. I’m just gonna say I don’t speak the language and get back behind the camera. I have no explanations for those who have always looked to the US as a beacon. Ain’t no beacon here.
