There is an interesting little drive to be made to Molena, Georgia from Atlanta. Molena is the town where Nancy McCrary has her gallery, The South by Southeast Gallery of Photography (SxSE). Drive south out of Atlanta on I-75, take the right fork when the signs indicate you can go to Griffin by doing so, through Griffin to Zebulon, West from Zebulon to Concord and on a bit to Molena. The drive becomes meditative, the countryside is beautiful and when you arrive at Molena you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the gallery. It’s not huge but not small and it’s not an “add-on” or really a card shop masquerading as a gallery… it’s a real, well thought out, well appointed gallery of photography. Defintely worth the trip! Nancy is extremely knowledgeable, approachable and, what’s that word…, oh yeah, nice. I’m entering another one at SxSE, Molena. This is a show called, “Still Lifes.” Anything that doesn’t move of its own accord should suffice, I guess. We’ll see.
I submitted these for “Still Lifes.”
Incidentally the opening for the current show at SxSE, “Street Photography,” is August 26th. Hope the weather is good but a good time will be had by all regardless.
Neofinder is continuing to work wonderfully at cataloging all my photography files. Relief!
